Tina Elaine Brandies, age 61, of Glen St. Mary, Florida, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Baptist Medical Center South after a courageous battle with cancer. Tina was born on November 25, 1960, in Jacksonville to Thomas and Myrtle (Harrington) Dykes and has lived in Glen St. Mary for the past 30 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed fishing, working on craft projects, singing in the church choir, and adored Elvis Presley. Her family will forever cherish the way she always looked for the good in people and her desire to help others in need. If you knew her, you knew Tina was quite a character. Another wonderful light in this world has gone out but shines eternally within our hearts. Tina was preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved husband of 14 years, Wayne Brandies. Survivors include her son, Howard Rowe (Christina) of Jacksonville; daughter, Christie Bell (Derick) of Jacksonville; brothers, Buddy Dykes of Jacksonville and Paul Dykes of Macclenny; sisters, Penny Simmons of Starke, Brenda Adkins of Starke, Pam Hartley (Rick) of Oceanway, and Teressa Freeman (Tim) of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; grandchildren, James, Austin, Emma, and Zackary Bell; along with nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel with Reverend Eddie Griffis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
