Thomas Austin Teel, age 75, of Glen St. Mary, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at St. Vincent's Riverside Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born to Hazel Dell (Elgin) and Russell Austin Teel in Jacksonville, Florida, on July 15, 1949, and had lived in Baker County since 2022. Mr. Teel was a caring father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served for 8 years. He graduated from the University of South Florida with an advanced degree in Electrical Engineering. Mr. Teel was an adventurous, creative, fun loving individual who loved to travel the world of exotic places. Thomas designed microchips for NASA and had several patents for the Space Program. He loved technology, sailing, hang gliding, snorkeling, and swimming. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Patricia Ann Teel; parents, Russell and Hazel Teel; and daughters, Vonnie Lynn Teel and Robin Kristen Hughes. Survivors include his daughter, Tara Delin Teel of Oveida, Florida; grandchildren, James Hughes and Thomas Sherman; brother, Joel Teel (Alice) of Gaston, South Carolina; sisters, Jeanie Teel Prosch (David) of Glen St. Mary, Florida, April Dell Teel of Glen St. Mary, Florida and Tammy Etta Teel of Gaston, South Carolina; along with numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends, including his best friend Dennis Pettway of Pensacola, Florida.  He will be greatly missed.
