Thomas "Tommy" Joe Starling, age 59, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville. He was born on July 2, 1965, in Baker County to Judy Wilkerson and Joseph Franklin Starling and stayed here his whole life. Tommy was raised by his grandparents, Tom and Bobbie Wilkerson, along with his mom, her ten brothers, and two sisters. He was a hard-working Pipe Fitter and was employed with W.W. Gay for 20 years before joining Dynafire Inc. in Jacksonville. At home, he was a super mechanic and enjoyed working on cars and trucks. Tommy loved rooting for the Florida Gators and fishing when he got the chance. He was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, son, and most importantly, "Loving Papa" to the grandbabies. Tommy was preceded in death by his brother, William "Buddy" Harris, and grandson, Logan. Survivors include his father, Joseph F. Starling of Macclenny; mother, Judy Harris of Macclenny; sons, Eddie Wayne "EJ" Moore Jr. (Teresa) of Macclenny, Christopher Jared Starling (Kristan) of Maxville, and Dustin Starling (Christen) of Macclenny; daughter, Christin Raymond (Nate) of Macclenny; brothers, Ronald "Ronnie" Harris (Marie) of Macclenny and Joseph "Joey" Starling (Cindy) of Starke; sister, Jamie Harris of Macclenny; grandchildren, Christian, Ariana, Channing, Breylan, Natalea, Chandler, Brantley, Caydin, Blaikley, Laiklynn, and Khloe; great-grandchildren, Paislea and Joseph; dear companion, Carol Covington; the mother of his children, Pamela Starling; and his furry best friend, Camo. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel with Pastor Kyle Lloyd officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the funeral home.
