Thomas Hodges, age 82, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Haven Hospice Custead Care Center in Orange Park. He was born in Macclenny to Nancy (Starling) and Ivy Hodges on April 18, 1943. Mr. Hodges was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He graduated from Baker County High School in 1962. After faithfully serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, he began his career with CSX Railroad, which eventually led to his relocation to Jacksonville in 1984, where he later retired. He enjoyed reading books, fishing, and traveling. Thomas loved the Lord and treasured his family. Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving sons, Thomas Andrew Hodges of Lake City and Kevin Hodges (Miriam) of St. Johns; brother, Fredrick Ivy Hodges (Dessie) of Ocala; sisters, Vera Hodges Mann of Sanderson, DeLois Hodges of Lake Lochloosa, and Daisy Mae Hodges Green of Glen St. Mary; grandson, Kevin Eduardo Hodges; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel with Dr. Albert Starling officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment in Manntown Cemetery will follow.
