Theodore Edson DeWolf, age 56, of Middleburg, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 15, 2025. Mr. DeWolf was born in Warwick, Rhode Island, to Ellen (Vanderpyl) and Basil Edson DeWolf on October 28, 1968. He grew up in Rhode Island and graduated from East Greenwich High School, Class of 1988. Theodore was the high school sweetheart of his wife, Maura, and together they built a loving marriage of 33 years. He retired after serving 20 years with the State of Rhode Island through the Department of Corrections before moving with his family to Clay County, Florida, in 2012. Theodore loved spending time with his wife and family, especially his grandchildren. To them, he was not just "Papa," but their best friend and greatest joy. Some of his hobbies included working on cars, having a passion for all things planes, and flying drones. Survivors include his parents; his wife of 33 years, Maura Randall DeWolf; daughter, Ashleigh DeWolf-Eiland (Jonathan); son, Theodore "T.J." DeWolf; daughter, Amanda DeWolf; grandchildren, Kaiden, Theo, Rowan, Landen, and Callan; brother, Justin DeWolf (Carol); sister, Kimberly Matthis (Michael); along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many other family and friends. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel with Pastor Rodney Kelley of West Jacksonville Baptist Church in Jacksonville officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation. Per his wishes, he will be cremated.
