Terry Barbara Jean White Ritch, age 85, of Jacksonville, Florida, went home to Heaven on Friday, February 2, 2024. She was born in Jacksonville on October 23, 1938, to Margaret (Collins) White and Cecil Raymond White. Mrs. Ritch was a consistent and enduring example of a Christian woman. She lived her life to serve the Lord and please Him. As a pastor's wife, she was a true helpmeet who actively supported her husband in ministry both in the church and at home. She worked side by side with others and was always a present and reliable worker no matter what activity or event was taking place. Mrs. Ritch's favorite area of ministry was teaching Children's Church, which she did for many years. She strived to teach children truths from God's Word that they could apply to their own lives, not just as children but as they grew into adulthood. She also had a special love for missionaries that was reflected in lessons she chose. Her active service also included training others as teachers and workers in children's ministries. Mrs. Ritch is loved and remembered for her quiet spirit, loving heart, and unwavering trust in the Lord. Throughout her life, she was confident in and comforted by her assurance that God is in control. Mrs. Ritch was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor James "Jim" Ritch, and a grandson, Phillip Michael Ritch. Survivors include her daughter, Penny Cox and her husband, Dewey; son, Mike Ritch and his wife, Norma Jean; and sister, Wanda Touchton; along with nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at West Jacksonville Baptist Church, 5634 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, with Pastor Rodney Kelley officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
