Stanley “Mac” Murray McDaniel, age 88, of Glen St. Mary, Florida, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center after an extended illness. He was born on July 29, 1938, in Brackenridge, Kentucky, the only son of Lucy (McDaniel) and Virgil Ward.
Mac and his wife, Joyce, have lived here in Baker County for the past 37 years. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved old school NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt Sr. Mac also enjoyed hunting in the Fall woods and was a Master Gardener, but spending time with his family was where his best memories were made.
Mac was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his beloved wife of 50 years, Joyce McDaniel; son, Shawn N. McDaniel; daughter, Rachel P. McDaniel, all of Glen St. Mary; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Mac's life will be scheduled at a later date.
