Mrs. Shillene M. McKowen, age 50, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 27, 2022. She was born on July 4, 1971, in Greenock, Scotland to John L. and Judy (Surmiak) Koessler. Shillene was a caring wife, mother, and grandmother that devoted her time to the care of her garden and her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Mathew Koessler. Survivors include her husband of 17 years, Jamie B. McKowen of Macclenny; parents, John and Judy Koessler of Taylor; son, Caleb Mathew Koessler of Lake City; daughter, Emily Irene Bordinat of Lake City; grandchildren, Owen Mathew Johnson, Aubriella Nicole Johnson, and Jace Allen Bordinat. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel with Minister Dwight Mast officiating. Interment will follow in Taylor Cemetery.
