Sherri Lynn Brown, age 55, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at the Community Hospice Acosta-Rua Center for Caring. She was born on January 19, 1965, in Jacksonville to Ralph Edward and Peggy Irene (Peacock) Dykes. Sherri was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, and of the Baptist faith. She loved going on vacation and visiting her sister in the North Carolina mountains. She enjoyed crafting, but her favorite thing to do was spending time with her family during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Sherri was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Deborah Elaine Dykes; brother, Harry Dykes; and father-in-law, Edward Brown. She is survived by her devoted husband of 29 years, Robert "Scott" Brown of Jacksonville; beloved daughter, Carrie Lynn Brown of Jacksonville; loving sister, Connie Williams (Glenn) of Flat Rock, North Carolina; mother-in-law, Patti Brown of Jacksonville; sister-in-law, Jill Ross of Jacksonville; nephew, Steven Williams; nieces, Lynn Pearson-Brown (Billy) and Caitlyn Ross; great nephew, Remington Pearson; great-nieces, Skye Williams and Nevaeh Brown; fur babies, Harley, Baby, Heidi, and Hemi; along with other family members and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Hope Baptist Church, 826 Reynolds Lane, Jacksonville, FL 32254 with Reverend Tim Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205, will follow.
