Mr. Sammie Midyette, a lifelong resident of Maxville, Florida, passed away at the age of 94 on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. He was born on February 25, 1927, in Clay County to George and Nettie (Harris) Midyette. Mr. Midyette proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II and enjoyed watching NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Edward Midyette (Linda); and grandson, Edward Midyette, Jr. Sammie is survived by his wife, Ofelia Midyette; his sons, Samuel Midyette (Josie) and Jimmy Midyette (Louise); grandchildren, Samuel Scott Midyette, Jimmy Midyette, Jr., and Cynthia Bowen (Mike); and great-granddaughter Desaree Midyette. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Bell Cemetery in Middleburg with Pastor Freddie Griffis officiating.
