Roy Winston Harvey Jr., age 73, of Fruit Cove, Florida, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Baptist Medical Center South after a brief illness. Roy was born and raised in Orlando. He graduated from the University of West Florida with a degree in Finance and Accounting. Roy moved his family from Miami to Jacksonville and had lived there for the past 25 years. He worked for Florida Power and Light for 25 years. After retirement, he worked for an additional 6 years at Blue Cross & Blue Shield. He was a devoted member of the Episcopal Church since birth. Roy was a kind, thoughtful, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a playful jokester and a very active Verger and Lay Reader of the Church. Roy was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his devoted wife of 52 years, Patti; daughters, Jennifer (Luis), Lori (Bill), and Mary (Chris); sister, Beth; grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan, Marissa, and Zoey; brother-in-law, Sonny; sister-in-law, Trish; nieces and nephews, Aimee, Hallie, Christina, and Scott; along with his dear friends and church family. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at San Jose Episcopal Church, 7423 San Jose Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32217.
