Rosa Lee Blair, age 89, of Florahome, Florida, closed her eyes in rest on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Roberts Hospice Care Center in Palatka. She was born in Maxville on April 8, 1936, one of five children born to Clifford Lee (Messiere) and Noah Denver Godwin. Ms. Rosa Lee enjoyed traveling to new places, was an avid sports fan, and loved rooting for her Jacksonville Jaguars, Florida Gators, and Atlanta Braves. She was a caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. While she adored her family, her heart belonged first to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Rosa Lee was a member of RISE Church. Her light, spunky, and fun spirit will be deeply missed. Rosa Lee was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Arthur Lewis Godwin; sister, Linda Quick; and daughter, Gwendolyn Lucille Saunders. Survivors include her sons, Roy Waters Jr. (Paula) of Florahome and Mitchell Steven Waters of Macclenny; sisters, Mickey Koonce (Mel) of Mebane, North Carolina, and Lillian Long (Jerry) of Fairmount, Georgia; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Long Branch Baptist Church in Maxville. Interment will follow in Long Branch Cemetery.
