Rodney Mark Johns, age 65, of Clay Hill, Florida, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024. He was born on April 29, 1959, in Seattle, Washington to Markerlee and Zelma Johns. Mr. Johns lived in Oklahoma for a short time before living most of his life in Clay Hill and was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Lawtey. He was an avid Oklahoma Sooners fan and was very proud of his Native American roots. Rodney was a registered member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. On most weekends you could find him at his peanut stand at the corner of 301 and 218. Rodney was a great storyteller and some of his family's fondest memories are sitting around listening to Rodney's stories about his childhood and growing up. He is preceded in death by both his parents. Survivors include his two sons, Mark and Jonathan; two daughters, Ashleigh (William) and Marlee (Brandon); four grandchildren, Rhett, Lily, Cora, and Ruby; brother, Randy Johns (Karen); sister, Debbie Henderson (Steve); wife, Brenda Johns; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Long Branch Baptist Church, 5500 Long Branch Cemetery Road, Jacksonville, Florida with Pastor Bill Clayton officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Rodney to the Chahta Foundations Health Fund at www.chahtafoundation.com/donate.
