Obituary

Roberta Adams Warner, age 72, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, May 28, 2023. She was born in Miami, Florida on March 19, 1951, to Robert and Phoebe (Lewin) Adams. She lived in Biscayne Park for 25 years before marrying and moving to Homestead for the next 44 years with her husband, Ronnie. She graduated from North Miami Senior High School in 1969, then studied art education and computers in college. She took her computer degree to a manufacturing company where she worked for 28 years, making many lifelong friends at Garment Corporation of America. She then started a new career for the Department of Corrections where she worked as a warden's assistant for 11 years. Roberta and Ronnie raised their daughter Kathryn in Homestead, and later her beloved cockatiel, Gadget. They both retired in 2019 and moved to Macclenny to be closer to extended family. Mrs. Warner had many artistic hobbies, including needlepoint, crocheting, and jewelry-making; and enjoyed crafting decorative wreaths for all occasions. She almost always listened to "golden oldies" music while crafting, sewing, or drawing. She loved visiting parks of all kinds, from local county parks to Florida state parks; and her favorites, Everglades National Park and Biscayne National Park. Photography was a lifelong passion; she printed and framed many of her personal photos from family vacations all over Florida and beyond. Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robin Adams; and brother-in-law Larry Warner. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Ronnie Warner; daughter, Kathryn Warner; brother, Timothy Adams; sisters-in-law Jean Ellison and Jacey Norton; two nieces; one nephew; along with many other family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel. A private family graveside will be held at Fort White Cemetery in Fort White, Florida. Arrangements entrusted to the care of BLACKBURN-CURRY FUNERAL & CREMATION, 380 N. Lowder Street, Macclenny, Florida 32063. (904) 259-2806. Please share your condolences with the Warner family online at www.blackburncurryfh.com.
