Robert Daniel Wilkinson, age 80, of Clay Hill, Florida, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at The Palms Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Orange Park after an extended illness. He was born in Blackshear, Georgia, to Ellen J. (Clark) and John D. Wilkinson and had lived in Clay Hill all his life. Robert faithfully served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War and afterward, worked as a carpenter until retirement. In his free time, he liked to take cruises when he could. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bud Padgett; and sister, Joyce McCoy. Survivors include his sons, Danny Wilkinson of Jacksonville and David Wilkinson (Priscilla) of Worthington Springs; brothers, Jerry Padgett Sr. (Linda Faye) and Shu Shu Wilkinson (Mary Lou), both of Clay Hill; along with nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Long Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Harry Conaway officiating.
