Mr. Robert Lee Pilkinton, age 63, of Keystone Heights, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the Roberts Hospice Care Center in Palatka after an extended illness. He was born in Columbia, Tennessee, on September 15, 1961, to Judith (Heinz) and William Pilkinton and had lived in Keystone Heights for about a year, having moved from Middleburg. Robert was a doting husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed feeling the wind on his face while riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and was an avid outdoorsman who took any opportunity to go hunting and fishing. At 6'5" and 380 lbs, his family lovingly called him "Sasquatch." Robert served his country faithfully for 12 years with the United States Navy. He was a gentle giant who loved his family, his country, and collecting any and all things Winnie the Pooh, his favorite childhood character. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Nancy Ann Pilkinton of Keystone Heights; son, Jeremy Andrew Wright of Viborg, South Dakota; daughter, Stephanie Ann Scott (Kelly) of Seward, Nebraska; brothers, William "Bill" Pilkinton Jr. (Lynn) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Marty Pilkinton (Melanie) of Culleoka, Tennessee; grandchildren, Matthew, Alex, and Bexley; great-grandchildren, Leilani and Lilyanna; along with other family members and friends. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements entrusted to the dedicated care of BLACKBURN-CURRY FUNERAL AND CREMATION, 380 N.
