Robert Samuel Godwin, age 64, of Maxville, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Ascension St. Vincent's Clay. He was born on December 6, 1959, in Jacksonville to Joann (Midyette) and Bobby Lee Godwin and had remained in the Maxville area all his life. Robert was a caring son, devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved riding bikes, all things about frogs, and cheering on his beloved Florida Gators. His greatest joy was sharing as much time as possible with his family. Robert was preceded in death by his father; wife, Tammy Godwin; and sister, Barbara Brown. Survivors include his mother, Joann Godwin of Maxville; sons, Robert E. Hobbs of Folkston, Georgia, James D. Godwin (Ashley) of Jacksonville, Jessie Godwin of South Carolina, and Zack Godwin of Jacksonville; daughters, Lindsey Godwin of South Carolina and Tabby Godwin of Jacksonville; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024, at Manning Cemetery in Jacksonville with Pastor Kent Williams officiating.
