Mr. Raymond Joseph Farnesi, age 88, of Lake City, Florida, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at the Suwannee Valley Care Center after a long battle with illness. Mr. Farnesi was born on July 20, 1933, in Yonkers, New York to Mario and Margaret (Connolly) Farnesi and had lived in Columbia County for the past 39 years. A devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Ray was a very private man who enjoyed sharing time with his family. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Ray was mechanically inclined and could work on practically anything. He loved riding his BMW Motorcycle and even rode it on a trip up through Alaska to the Arctic Circle. Ray also loved the companionship of his dog, Cowboy. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Artie Farnesi. Survivors include his children, Marty Farnesi (Rosemary), Vincent Farnesi (Pamela), and Debra Farnesi, all of Macclenny; sister, Ruthie Nichols of Hudson, New York; grandchildren, Christopher and Michael Wood, Kimberly Howard, Danielle Farnesi, Rachel Yelko, and Sarah Smallwood; and 7 great-grandchildren.
