Ray Aubery Jones, age 89, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He was born on March 28, 1936, in Macclenny. Mr. Jones was a sweet, caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who was a carpenter by trade, and his skills are on display with some of the facades at Heritage Park. He enjoyed doing leather work and was a Pro Bass Fisherman as well. Ray and his wife, Dot, lived in Clay Hill for many years. His greatest joy later in life was the dedicated love and care he poured into being a caregiver to Dot. After Dot's passing, Ray moved back to Macclenny to be closer to his sisters, Bernice and Margaret. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Jones and Tressie (Davis) Jones Reynolds; brothers, Earl and Franklin Jones; sisters, Bernice Raulerson and Margaret Sands; son, Gary Jones; and his beloved wife, Dorothy "Dot" Jones. Survivors include his stepson, Floyd Harvey; stepdaughter, Martha Faye Gainey; step-grandson, Dennis Jerrett; and several other step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
