Ray Anthony Consolaro, age 67, of Sanderson, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at UF Health Shands in Gainesville after a lengthy illness. He was born in Harrison, Pennsylvania, on March 23, 1958, to Karen Ann Sweet and Louis Anthony Consolaro. Raised by Lou and Bobbie Consolaro, Ray had lived in Baker County for 59 years and graduated from Baker County High School in 1976. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching NASCAR. He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic at Tatum Brothers Sawmill in Lawtey until he retired. Ray was the best Papa to his grandbabies and would spoil them every chance he could. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Lou and Bobbie; mother-in-law, Katherine Miller; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Brandon. He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Kathy D. Consolaro of Sanderson; devoted daughter, Felecia Hodges (Steve) of Macclenny; brother, Jim Douglas Consolaro (Paula) of Pennsylvania; stepbrothers, Pine Thrift and Timmy Milton (Vicki), both of Sanderson; stepsister, Lori Folsom (Brian) of Sanderson; brothers-in-law, Ted Brandon (Betty), Chris Brandon, Doug Brandon (Tammy), and Greg McClendon (Tina); sister-in-law, Angel Miller; granddaughters, Keltni (Payton), Kaitlynn (Justin), Lonna (Trace); one great-granddaughter on the way; along with special friends, Charles and Sylvia Tatum, Charley Craig, and Charlee "Charlee Girl" Montford. A Celebration of Ray's Life will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 10697 County Road 127, Sanderson, Florida 32087. Ray will be laid to rest at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218 (Lane 2) with military honors.
