Mr. Preston Davis, age 81, of Sanderson, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, after a brief illness. A lifelong native, he was born on September 13, 1940, in Baker County to Albert Bertie and Pearlie (Raulerson) Davis. Preston was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend who loved his family, loved to joke around, and deeply loved to worship and serve the Lord. He was a devoted, longtime member of Dinkins New Congregational Methodist Church. Preston retired after 24 years with JEA Electric in Jacksonville. He then went on to work under three different Sheriffs (Newmans, Richardson, and Dobson) with the Baker County Sheriff's Office and retired from service after 29 years. Preston was a kind soul that dedicated his life to the service of helping people. He was preceded in death by his parents; several brothers and sisters; and his son, Terry Preston Davis Sr. Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Miriam Davis of Sanderson; son, Jeffrey Lee Davis (Yvonne) of Sanderson; grandchildren, Jeffrey Davis (Blair), Terry P. Davis Jr., Jason Odell Davis (Tayler), Terrell Ray Davis, Kiara Nicole Davis; great-grandchildren, Breanna, Kerrigan, Reagan, Rylee, Presley, Parker, Elizabeth, Gatlin, and Ava; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Dinkins Church with Pastor Allen Crews officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Creek Cemetery.
