Pastor Bobby Gene Crews, age 74, of Glen St. Mary, Florida, passed away on Sunday evening, January 8, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 10, 1948, in Lake Park, Georgia, to Andrew Jackson and Mabel Irene (Culpepper) Crews, and was a lifelong resident of Baker County. Brother Bobby was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed fishing, making music, playing his guitar and fiddle, and being a pastor. His greatest devotion was taking care of his family and to the service of his Savior. Brother Bobby was the current pastor and long-time member of Macedonia Independent Methodist Church. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife of 52 years, Betty "Jeanie" Crews; and brothers, Alton Crews, Brigham Crews, and Harold Crews. Survivors include his wife, Shelia Rewis of Glen St. Mary; son, Richard Crews of Glen St. Mary; daughter, Angela Crews of Glen St. Mary; brothers, Woody Crews (Charlotte) of Glen St. Mary, Archie Crews of Madison, and Paul Crews of Glen St. Mary; sisters, Margaret Watson, DeLois Crews, both of St. George, Georgia, and Jeanette Best (Alvin) of Fernandina Beach; grandchildren, Alyssa, Aleara, Ashley, and Braden; one great-grandchild, Dakota; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Macedonia Independent Methodist Church with Reverend Gene Burnsed and Reverend Allen Crews officiating. Interment in South Prong Cemetery will follow. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
