Otis Edgar Hanks, age 87, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 7, 2026. He was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to Elsie Mae (Romine) and Granville Hanks on August 29, 1939.
Mr. Hanks was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was an owner-operator trucker for over 20 years. Otis had enjoyed fishing and playing guitar since he was 18 years old. After retirement, he dabbled in antique clock repair.
Mr. Hanks was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Donna Lynn Ward and Deedee Renee Brackin; brother, Edward Hanks; sister, Loraine Morgan; and grandchildren, Kayla and Aaron. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Charlotte A. Hanks of Macclenny; children, Marty and Heather Hanks of Glen St. Mary, Buddy and Rachel Hanks of Macclenny, Darren Rescigno of the Philippines, and Pam Roy of Baton Rouge, Louisianna; brother, Gilbert and Vicki Hanks of Fleming Island; sisters, Louise Shafer of Jacksonville, Phyllis Waldrop of Jacksonville, and Linda Owens of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; grandchildren, Noah, Ann, Elizabeth and Hunter, Brandon and Brittany, Johnathan and Jordan, Jacob and Hayley, William and Anna, Blaire and Brittany, Hunter and Arika, Bailey and Blane, Hannah and A.J., Brad and Stephanie, Mandi and Joe, and Michael and Theresa; along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
