Nell Dudley Yon, age 81, of Jacksonville, Florida, went Home to be with The Lord on Thursday, December 16, 2021. She was born in Grand Ridge, Florida, graduated from Grand Ridge High School, and moved to Jacksonville in 1958. Mrs. Yon was an active member of Harvest Ministries Church where she served in many leadership roles, including planning and organizing trips/activities for the Harvesters. She had many interests but especially enjoyed family, friends, and her dog Eli, traveling the world, hosting annual Super Bowl parties, card games with friends, and challenging puzzles. Nell retired from the Department of Motor Vehicles as an Investigator. For 30+ years and up until the very end, she worked as a precinct manager with The Duval County Supervisor of Elections. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Annie Kathleen Dudley; husband, Quillon C. "Jiggs" Yon; daughter-in-law, Terri Lynn Yon; and a sister, Helen Harris Yon (Paul).  Survivors include her son, Kevin D. Yon; daughter, Robyn Y. Newman (Rick); 4 grandchildren, Ashley Yost (Matthew), Sydney Nelson (Zach), Samantha Reeves (Ryan), and Lauren Yon; 1 great-grandchild, Theodore Nelson; sister, Linda Joan Gilley (Jerry); along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. EST on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Harvest Ministries, 2550 Fouraker Road in Jacksonville with Pastor Dave Ragan officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.  Interment and a graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. CST in Shady Grove Cemetery in Grand Ridge, Florida with Pastor Bascom Smith officiating.
