Nancy “June” L. Jacobs, age 67, of Glen St. Mary, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at her home, after an extended illness. The daughter of Julia Glendora (Clark) and William Leroy Hunter, she was born on March 23, 1959, in Live Oak, Florida.
June was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother whose servant’s heart and quiet demeanor made her a joy to know and spend time with. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden and potted plants, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She devoted 40 years to the University of Florida and retired as the Office Manager of Pediatric Nephrology. Her main devotion was to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. June’s deep faith helped sustain her and her family during her illness, and it is with the assurances that come from God that they can rejoice in the midst of sadness.
She was preceded in death by her father and stepfather. Survivors include her devoted husband of 44 years, William “Buddy” Jacobs of Glen St. Mary; beloved daughter, Ashley Harvey (Hubbard) of Jacksonville; mother, Julia Peterson of Live Oak; brother, Dale Cason (Sherri) of Live Oak; sisters, Glenda Jones (Sonny) of Live Oak, Marlene Smith of Jennings, and Libby Waters (Rowdy) of Wellborn; grandchildren, Jackson and Colin Harvey; along with nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend Donnie Williams and Pastor David Garlic officiating. Interment will follow in South Prong Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial donations may be made in June's name to Community Hospice and Palliative Care, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257, or online at https://thefoundationcares.org/give/.
