Nancy Bell, age 80, of Jacksonville, Florida, peacefully went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus, with her family by her side on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. She was born in Warm Springs, Alabama, on June 19, 1945, to Troy and Elizabeth (Davis) Markum. Nancy retired from Duval County Schools, where she was employed at Pickett Elementary for a number of years. She was the life of the party and never met a stranger. A pillar of the Picketville community, Nancy was well known, loved, and respected by her neighbors. Her bubbly personality and sharp wit would easily draw you in and make you want to stay a while. Nancy enjoyed traveling, antiquing, and thrifting. She was a good friend to the many friends who adored her. The matriarch of the family, Nancy was dependable and loyal. But, most important of all, she was a loving wife and caring mother who would be there, good or bad, for her family, pets, and any friend in need. Nancy leaves behind a legacy of strength, laughter, and faith. She is reunited in heaven with her parents, two sisters, father-in-law, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law, Russel. Nancy is survived by her husband of 61 years and love of her life, Glenn T. Bell; daughter, Glenda Bell-Lumley (John); sons, George T. Bell and Glen H. Bell; brothers, Jerry Markum and David Markum; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Peggy Brooks (Bill), Charlotte Linton (James), Sandra Hooten; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
