Mary Katherine "Kathy" Long, age 59, of Starke, Florida, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Shands UF Gainesville after a sudden battle with cancer. Kathy was born in Starke on September 28, 1962, to the late Donald Crews Wainwright and Mary Jane (Owens) Wainwright. She was a loving mother that enjoyed playing the piano, crocheting, reading, and helping other people in need. Kathy was a happy soul that loved to laugh and devote her time to the care of her family and her fur babies. Survivors include her two daughters, Candice N. Tyson (John Frey) of Starke and Amanda Ryan (Matt) of Sanderson; stepbrother, Jeff Wainwright of Ft. White; stepsista, Kathy Agan of Starke; and many friends. Family services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at CrossRoads to Victory Church, 17913 NE 271st Avenue, Lawtey, Florida 32058 with Pastor Neil Griffis officiating.
