Marlene Alma Smith Leggett, age 73, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023, after a lengthy illness. She was born on June 25, 1949, in Rochester, New Hampshire, to William and Rhoda (Gervais) Smith but had lived in Baker County all her life. Marlene was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed working in her garden and caring for her beloved dogs. Marlene was passionate about helping her community. She coordinated transportation for several years with the Council on Aging (COA) in Baker County. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Richard and Mike Smith; and her sister, Millie Czesnowski. Survivors include her sons, Robert Haines (Tristan) of Orange Park and Glen Haines of Madison; daughters, Shannon Rendel (Stacey), April Bartleson (Scott), both of Macclenny and Erica Mariano (Joe) of Orange Park; brother, Bill Smith of South Carolina; sisters, Alyce Edson of North Carolina and Erica Leanne of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Charlee, Jessee, Brandon, Kyle, Chance, Jimmy, Destinee, Taylor, Sarah, and Michael; great-grandchildren, Waylon, Stetson, Maverick, Hampton, Staiton, Dalis, Ma'Kinley, Jameson, Fletcher, Kanyon, Mallory, Jace, Declan, Summerlyn, and Ophelia.
