IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maria Magdalena
Mimoso
October 24, 1930 – June 24, 2025
Maria Magdalena Mimoso, age 94, of Jacksonville, Florida, went Home to Glory on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. She was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, on October 24, 1930, and lived there until she moved to The Bronx, New York. She moved to Orlando, Florida, and lived there for over 30 years before relocating to Jacksonville to live with her daughter, Maggie, and son-in-law James Rivera. Mrs. Mimoso was a wonderful Christian lady who loved to crochet, listen to music, sing hymns, cook, and do crossword puzzles. Her daughter, Maggie, wants everyone to know that she was the mom who led her journey, and her love will continue to encompass her daily walk. Her nurturing spirit and generosity touched everyone she met. Preceding her in death were her parents, four brothers, and two sisters. Survivors include her sons, Robert Andino (Marta), Frankie Vargas, Jose Vargas (Anita); and daughters, Nitza Aleman and Maggie Rivera (James); along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Per her wish, she will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to VITAS Hospice. Cremation arrangements entrusted to the dedicated care of BLACKBURN-CURRY FUNERAL AND CREMATION, 380 N. Lowder Street, Macclenny, Florida 32063. (904) 259-2806.
