Lloyd Wayne "Nub" Rhoden, age 76, of Moniac, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at his home after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. He was born on September 4, 1947, in Baker County to Jeanette (Burnsed) and Lloyd Rhoden and had lived in Moniac for the past 53 years. Wayne was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Nub was a hardworking man's man. He could be hard on you, but he was always tempered with fairness and kindness. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Larry; brothers, R.E., Carson, and Ricky Rhoden; sister, Kathy Box; and a grandson, Klinton N. Rhoden. Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Kathryn Marlene Rhoden of Moniac, Georgia; son, Michael Rhoden of Moniac, Georgia; daughter, Tonya Rhoden (Anthony Harris) of Moniac, Georgia; brother, Mark Rhoden of Lake City; sisters, Darlene Fillyaw (Bobby) of Lake City and Emmie Crawford of Moniac, Georgia; grandchildren, Anthony "Tony" Rhoden and Kayla Rhoden; great-grandchild, Travis Harris; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Moniac Baptist Church with Pastor Matt Rouse and Reverend Gene Burnsed officiating. Interment will follow in Canaday Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
