Laura Michelle Wilbanks, age 75, of Glen St. Mary, Florida, passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 30, 2025, at Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital. She was born on November 28, 1950, in Miami-Dade County, one of six children to Mary Louise (Pickerill) and Henry Wilbanks. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Laura enjoyed being outdoors, camping, and fishing. She was a no nonsense lady who drove semi trucks hauling for various companies, including Walmart, to move freight. She loved driving big rigs, but time took its toll. Laura then shifted to working as a Walmart associate at our Macclenny Super Center where she had dedicated 20 years to our community. She loved working at Walmart. Over the years, she had come to know a great number of customers and their families, as well as the families of her co-workers. Although she was a woman of humble means, she often gave generously to provide Christmas gifts for some of her "Walmart grandchildren," who often called her "Memaw." Laura considered them her family. Her smiling, familiar face in the Garden Center will be deeply missed. Laura was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Louis and Thomas "Tommy" Wilbanks; sisters, Suzanne and Vickie Wilbanks; and longtime companion, Richard Bailey. She is survived by her beloved children, Dina Conley (Robert) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Nichoel Martin of Jacksonville, and Wally A. Banks Jr. (Michele) of Jacksonville; brother, Bill Wilbanks of Homestead; grandchildren, Christian, Sarah, and Jacob; and great-grandchildren, Jonah and Ava "Rosebud." A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Woman's Club of Macclenny.
