Johnny Eugene Crews, age 73, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023. A lifelong resident of Baker County, he was born on May 12, 1949, in Glen St. Mary to Lizzie Lee (Starling) and Corbit Samuel Crews Jr. Johnny was a 1967 graduate of Baker County High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who loved helping others. Johnny enjoyed fishing, watching football, and loved cutting the fool with everybody. He was always friendly and never met a stranger. Johnny truly lived his life to the fullest. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Wanda Robinson. Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Janice R. Crews of Macclenny; son, John Corry Crews (Heather) of Macclenny; daughter Tammy Gayle Waldo (Charlie) of Glen St. Mary; brothers, James Crews of Keystone Heights and Randall Crews (Sharri) of Lake Butler; grandchildren, John Corry Crews Jr., Jacob Dalton Crews, Skylar Nicole Crews, and Tannis Korri Guffey (William); great-grandchild, Kyran Guffey; along with several nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Visitation with the family will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Christian Fellowship Temple with Reverend David Griffis officiating.
