John "Cuz" Prudhomme Jr., age 75, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at St. Vincent's Riverside after a long illness. He was born on October 17, 1949, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, to John E. and Maxine (Hays) Prudhomme. Known as "Cuz" to family and friends, John grew up on the family farm at Cedar Bend Plantation in Bermuda, Louisiana, and graduated from Natchitoches High School in 1968. Cuz was an outstanding football and track athlete at Northwestern Jr. High and Natchitoches High School. He was a Lifetime Member of Macclenny Moose Lodge, holding most office positions, including Governor. He held all degrees and eventually, the top honor of Pilgrim. Cuz was also a member of the Moose Legion, where he supported the Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranches. He and his wife, Patricia "Ms. Pat" Paulson, loved to travel and meet other Moose members until life and illness slowed them down. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Maxine Prudhomme; brother, William Joseph "Joey" Prudhomme; two nephews and a niece. Survivors include his wife, Ms. Pat of Macclenny; siblings, LuAnne P. Terry of Bossier City, Angela P. Taylor and Bob of Bossier City, Lee P. Vickers of Bermuda, and Clare P. Trichel of Natchitoches, all in Louisiana; son, Johnathon Seth Prudhomme; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
