Mr. Joey "Sleepy" Allen Padgett, age 60, of Maxville, Florida, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021, at the Haven Hospice Custead Care in Orange Park. Joey was born in Jacksonville, Florida, to Bonnie Louise (Harris) and Buddy Joe Padgett. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, who loved his family, and his animals, riding motorcycles, the Florida Gators, and eating at the PIG BBQ. He was the Owner and Operator of J. Padgett Trucking and enjoyed being on the road working. Joey was preceded in death by his daughter, Krystle Gay Padgett; and father, Buddy Joe Padgett. Survivors include his devoted wife of 40 years, Rita Y. Padgett of Maxville, daughters, Krystina Barton (J.R.) and Kasandra Griffis (Wesley) both of Maxville; brother, Darryl Padgett (Deborah) of Green Cove Springs; and 2 grandchildren, Jasmin and Zoey Barton.
