Jawan Lee Dobson Rhoden, age 55, of Sanderson, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at Shands UF in Jacksonville due to complications sustained in an automobile accident. She was born on October 10, 1964, in Macclenny, Florida, to Mildred J. (McAlum) and Donald F. Dobson, Jr. Jawan was a lifelong resident of Baker County and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a devoted mother, Nana, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Jawan loved spending time with her family and friends and watching Gator football. She was preceded in death by her son, Seab Rhoden. Jawan is survived by her parents, Mildred and Donald Dobson, Jr.; son, Shane Rhoden (Samantha) of Macclenny; daughter, Brandi Manning of Sanderson; sisters, Dawn Avent (Champ) of Orange Park, Teri Swaim (Warren) of Olustee, and Janet Hays (David) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; beloved grandchildren, Jadyn Manning, Chase Manning, Jace Rhoden, and Kelton Rhoden; her canine companion, Jake; along with numerous other family members and friends. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Joe Breazeale, Brother Joseph Heath, and Brother George Knabb officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Manntown Cemetery.
