James C. Meece, age 70, of Middleburg, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 9, 2023. He was born in Champaign, Illinois, on Saturday, February 9, 1953, to Jackson Kirby Meece and Ruth Irene Nelson Meece. He lived in Florida most of his life and was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps. Mr. Meece was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved music, reading, movies, horse racing, sports, and golfing. He also enjoyed umpiring and coaching youth sports. Mr. Meece was preceded in death by his daughter, Penny Meece, and stepdaughter, Melinda Allen. Survivors include his partner of 38 years, Linda Mason; sons, Jared Mason and his wife, Heather, and Beau Meece; and daughter, Jennifer Moncada and her husband, Fernando.
