IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James "Jim"
David Scott Jr.
September 5, 1943 – July 13, 2023
James "Jim" David Scott Jr., age 79, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023, after a brief illness at St. Vincent's Medical Center Riverside. He was born on September 5, 1943, in Zanesville, Ohio, to Eloise (Williams) and James David Scott Sr., and has called Baker County home for the past 20 years. Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was incredibly likable due to his easygoing, humorous nature. There was never a dull moment while you were around him. Jim worked at Kaiser Aluminum Company for 20 years, Irvin Drilling Oil Field for 8 years, owned his own dump truck company for 9 years, worked as a custodian in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, for 14 years, and finally retired as a Baker County Crossing Guard after 9 years in 2021. Jim was an accomplished mechanic who could fix anything, but his passion was antique tractors. He loved collecting them and browsing tractor shows for more treasures. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Viola McDonald; and a great-grandson, Austin Scott. Survivors include his precious wife of 62 years, Donna Jean Scott of Macclenny; sons, Doug Scott (Cindy) of Macclenny and David Scott (Penny) of Zanesville, Ohio; daughter, Dodie Warstler (Chauncey) of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; brothers, John Scott of Hopewell, Ohio and Tom Scott of Gratiot, Ohio; sisters, Susan Wiechert (Ted), Peggy Willis, Alice Jones, Vicky McDonald, all of Zanesville, Ohio and Eloise Wiseman of Mt. Perry, Ohio; grandchildren, Angie, Chris, Trey, Troy, Heather, Casey, and Nicole; 14 great-grandchildren; and his devoted pug, Biscuit. Funeral services for Mr. Scott will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel with Pastor Allen Crews officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior at the funeral home. Arrangements entrusted to the care of BLACKBURN-CURRY FUNERAL & CREMATION, 380 N. Lowder Street, Macclenny, Florida 32063. (904) 259-2806.
