Mr. George Charles Mills, age 98, of Glen St. Mary, Florida, passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City. He was born on May 26, 1923, in Tampa, Florida, to George Forrest and Annie Elizabeth (King) Mills. Mr. Mills was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II in the Atlantic and the Pacific. He moved from Lake City to Baker County in 2000 and is of the Baptist faith. George was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He had a passion for playing music and truly adored his family. George was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife of 59 years, Lucille (Palmer) Mills; sons, James Mills and Mike Mills; daughter, Marsha (Mills) Patrick; and brother, Eddie Mills. He is survived by his sons, George C. Mills (Mary) of Boca Raton, Gerald Mills (Fran) of New Hampshire, Donnie Mills (Mary) of Lake City, and John Mills (Alma) of Glen St. Mary; sister, Irene Swigett of California; grandchildren, George Mills III, Christopher Mills, Jay Mills, and Jeff Mills; along with other family members and friends.
