Senior Chief Frank Crockett Vickers, US Navy (Retired), age 79, of Folkston, Georgia, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 11, 1946, to Gloria Beatrice (Mann) and William Franklin Vickers II in Gainesville, Florida. Frank married his soulmate, Jean Leiner, on April 18, 1971. He traveled abroad, proudly served his country for 22 years, and retired from Blount Island. Frank enjoyed fishing, hunting, and walking in the woods with Jean, but his favorite pastime was spending time with his family. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; son, William Paul Vickers; brothers, Bobby and Phillip Reynolds; and sisters, Aida Schumacher and Kathy Smith. Survivors include his devoted wife of 54 years, Jean Leiner Vickers; sons, Michael DeWayne Vickers and James David Vickers (Erika); siblings, William Paul Vickers (Carolyn), William "Billy" Franklin Vickers III (Kim), Vivian Lee Temperio, and Renee Acosta; grandchildren, Jacob Vickers, Marlee Vickers, Ian Vickers, Garrett Vickers, Logan Vickers, Bentley Vickers, and Kensley Vickers; great-grandchild, Lakelynn Vickers; along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Macclenny with Bishop John Sands officiating. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Mr. Vickers will be laid to rest at Jacksonville National Cemetery at a later date.
