Glen St. Mary

Obituary

Frank Junior Horton, age 83, of Glen St. Mary, Florida, passed away peacefully in the care of Community Hospice at St. Vincent’s Riverside on Friday, October 23, 2026, where he was surrounded by care and compassion, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love, family, faith, and memories that will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
His family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the hospice staff who cared for Frank during his final days. Their kindness, compassion, patience, and gentle care brought comfort not only to Frank, but also to the family during an incredibly difficult time. The love and dignity they showed him will never be forgotten.
Frank was born on March 21, 1943, in Monroe, Louisiana, to Willa Ruth (Harrell) and Otis Frank Horton. He later made his home in Glen St. Mary, where he built a life centered around the people and things he loved most. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and friend.
Frank was a diesel and car mechanic who worked tremendously hard to provide and take care of his family. He found joy in being the family handyman, watching John Wayne movies, reading, and fishing for flounder.
Frank was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 61 years, Dorothy “Carol” Beazley Horton; his parents; and sisters, Barbara Stallings and Carolyn Curtis. He is survived by his children, Scott Horton, Anthony Horton, Tammy Hicks (Alphonso), Timmy Horton, Wendy Swords (Lee), and Joshua Jones; along with a family that continues to grow through the generations, 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Frank’s family will have a private graveside service at a later date.
Cremation arrangements entrusted to the dedicated care of BLACKBURN-CURRY FUNERAL AND CREMATION, 380 N. Lowder Street, Macclenny, Florida 32063. 904-259-2806.
