Frances Ann Powers, age 74, of Jacksonville, Florida, went home to be with The Lord on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. She was born in Boaz, Alabama, on October 3, 1951, to Minnie Bell (Bingham) and Henry Mathis Wright. Frances graduated from high school in Boaz, Alabama, and had an Associate of Arts degree from FCCJ. She has lived in Jacksonville most of her life. Mrs. Powers was a member of West Jacksonville Baptist Church where she enjoyed regularly attending services. She also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and the outdoors in general. Survivors include her husband since February 12, 1993, Zed Powers, Jr; daughter, Laura Wall; sisters, Lorene and Doris; grandchildren, Christian, Brittany, Christina, John Wayne, Alexandra, and Walter, Jr.; 12 great-grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at West Jacksonville Baptist Church, 5634 Normandy Boulevard in Jacksonville with Pastor Rodney Kelley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Per her wishes, she will be cremated and laid to rest at Jacksonville National Cemetery at a later date. The family requests that those attending the memorial service at the church wear Christmas colors.
