Douglas Grey Kersey, age 82, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born one of six children to Dorothy (Taggert) and James Edward Kersey Sr. in Green Cove Springs on September 11, 1943. Doug was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved to travel. He had the opportunity to do a lot of that as an owner-operator truck driver for over 40 years. Doug loved being out on the water fishing and was an avid Florida Gator fan. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family. Doug proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army, and we are grateful for his service. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Michael, Benjamin, James, and Jack Kersey; sister, Helen Kersey; son, Arthur L. Charles; and daughter, Delores Kersey. Survivors include his beloved wife of 24 years, Betty "Darlene" Kersey of Macclenny; son, Tommy L. Phillips Sr. (Jennifer) of Macclenny; daughter, Lisa Walker of Jacksonville; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
