Dorothy June Kirby Harvley, age 87, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away at her home surrounded by love on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. She was born in Jackson County, Tennessee, to Martha (Williams) and Clarence Kirby on October 19, 1937. June's education ended in 8th grade, and then she went to work with her family on the family farm. She went back to school and got her GED at the age of 50. June was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who loved her family beyond measure. She was a strong willed woman and a hard worker. June always kept a clean house and loved to collect glass knick knacks. June was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Brenda Kirkland; and brothers, Robert Kirby and Billy Kirby. She is survived by her beloved children, Dean Bass (Carol) of Horse Cave, Kentucky, Glen Bass (Lisa) of Park City, Kentucky, Jimmy Bass (Barbara) of Gainesville, Elizabeth Gray (Perry) of Macclenny, Serena Harris (Turtle) of Macclenny, and Maggie McIntosh (Cody) of Lake City; bonus children, Patricia Rhoden (Gerald Ray), Susan Jenkins, Daniel Jenkins, all of Macclenny, and Lisa Repollet of St. Augustine; brother, Carlos Kirby of Baxter, Tennessee; 25 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery will follow.
