Diane May, age 75, of Sanderson, Florida, passed away at St. Vincent’s Riverside on Thursday, July 16, 2026, after a brief illness. She was born on May 14, 1951, in Charleston, West Virginia, to Geneva (Carpenter) and Jim Corby.
Diane was a humble, simple woman whose greatest joy in life was being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her family meant everything to her.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Debra Johns; and daughter, Stephanie D. Atcheson. Survivors include her sons, Bobby Randall Atcheson of Taylor and David Alan (Katie) Melik of Willard, North Carolina; daughter, Stacey Lee Atcheson (Shawn) of Sanderson; brothers, Denny Allen May of Lawtey and Danny Edward May of Macclenny; sisters, Patty Jean White, Geneva Jean Beck, and Kathy Ann Soares, all of Macclenny; grandchildren, Kristen, Steven, Hayley, Alayna, Allen, Dana, Sean, Amanda, Christopher, Joshua, and Jessica; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
