IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Deborah “Suzy”
Suzanne Teel
November 17, 1947 – June 25, 2024
Deborah "Suzy" Suzanne Teel, age 76, of Jacksonville, Florida, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Born on November 17, 1947, Suzy was a lifetime resident of Jacksonville. She was a long-time member of West Jacksonville Baptist Church where she met and married her beloved husband, Gerald Teel, and where they raised their family. Suzy's life was one of devotion. Devotion to God, her husband, and her family was her greatest passion. Her joy and reward were seeing her children grow into responsible and Godly adults who, in turn, began building their families in the same pattern they had seen their mother follow. Suzy loved much and was greatly treasured. For all her life she gave of herself to those she loved and was an integral part of the care of her extended family. Suzy spent her life for others. She also loved being in the kitchen and garden. If you ever visited her, she would either offer to make you food or show you all her flowers and plants. She was happiest outside sitting on the patio with her husband while watching the wildlife around her. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Suzy will be greatly missed. We take comfort in knowing she is in the presence of Jesus and rejoicing with the host of loved ones who preceded her into heaven. Our hearts long for the day that we will be reunited and nevermore parted again. Suzy is survived by her husband of 51 years, Gerald Teel; children, Delia Cansler (Brad), Gerald Teel (Lindsey), and Danielle Black (Josh); 5 grandchildren, Maddison, Maeghan (Connor), Garrett, Olivia, and Will; 3 brothers, Randy, Richard, and Gene Watson (Lurvin); 6 sisters, Marie Dyer, Honor Darby, Chiquita McCartney, Trish Oldham (Steve), Donna Gill (Mike), and Dawn Roehl (Don). She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Naomi and Samuel Watson Jr.; brother, Samuel Watson III; and sister-in-law, Beckie Watson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024, at West Jacksonville Baptist Church, 5634 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida with Pastor Rodney Kelley officiating. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Following the service, a private, family only interment will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens behind Trinity Baptist Church, 800 Hammond Boulevard, Jacksonville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to West Jacksonville Baptist Church Missions Fund. Arrangements entrusted to the dedicated care of BLACKBURN-CURRY FUNERAL AND CREMATION, 380 N. Lowder Street, Macclenny, Florida 32063. (904) 259-2806. Please share your condolences with the Teel family online at www.blackburncurryfh.com.
