Obituary

David Allen Smith, Jr., age 40, of Jacksonville, Florida, went Home to be with the Lord after a hard fought battle with cancer on Monday, April 27, 2026. He was born in Jacksonville on November 4, 1985, to David Allen Smith, Sr. and Jackie Broughton Smith.
David worked at L&W, Duval Pilot, Pep Boys, and Pinnacle Central. He was a devoted man of faith who attended Lane Avenue Church of God since childhood. He was a family man who loved his family with his entire heart. His great sense of humor brought a smile to everyone who met him. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and marksman shooting at the gun range in his spare time.
David was a jack of all trades, a grill master, and you could usually find him underneath the hood of a car. He would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved the Florida Gators, playing card games, and loved to use his talent to bring honor and glory to God as he played bass for church during praise and worship time.
David was preceded in death by his father, David Smith Sr.; grandmother, Elizabeth Broughton; and cousin, Sean Broughton. He is survived by his mother, Jackie Lynn Smith; wife, Feliza G. Smith; sons, Dylan, Ethan and Isaac Smith; daughter, Ellie Smith; sister, Christina Motil (Preston); nephews, Kendall Smith, Parker and Nathan Motil; brother, Bryan Smith (Leah); niece, Adelyn Smith; aunt, Dian Groover; cousins, Seth Broughton and Tracy Zogby; brother and sister-in-law, Bert and Sandra Cardona, and their children Kale, Victoria, Tyler, Zachariah; and numerous great nieces and a great nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Lane Avenue Church of God, 2956 Lane Avenue North in Jacksonville with Pastor Steve DuBose and Reverend Steve Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 800 Hammond Boulevard, behind Trinity Baptist Church.
Arrangements entrusted to the dedicated care of BLACKBURN-CURRY FUNERAL AND CREMATION, 380 N. Lowder Street, Macclenny, Florida 32063. (904) 259-2806.
