IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Lee
Singletary
May 31, 1954 – September 10, 2025
David Lee Singletary, age 71, of Glen St. Mary, Florida, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. He was born in Jacksonville on May 31, 1954, one of seven children of Lois Watson and Pickett Evans Singletary. In his younger years, David worked as a shipfitter, specializing in welding and fabrication in the shipyards. He later became a long-haul truck driver. A devoted husband, caring father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, David enjoyed woodworking, often crafting ornamental boats to sell. He found peace by the water, whether jet skiing, fishing, or simply soaking in the calm. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. David was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jimmy Singletary; and his sisters, Bobby Watts, Rhoda Rush, and Lynn Singletary. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Angela Singletary of Glen St. Mary; his children, Pickett Lee Singletary (Margie) of Glen St. Mary, Roy Michael Lane of St. George, Georgia, Daniel Keith Lane (Michelle) of Bryceville, and Paula Michelle Brittain (Lonnie Dunning) of Olustee; sisters, Martha Royal of Bryceville and Shirley Kolletar (Robert) of Hilliard; and brother-in-law, Alton Watts. He is also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews, especially his favorite, Kimberly Kolletar; 11 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of David's Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Friends and family are welcome to share memories of David during the service. Cremation arrangements entrusted to the dedicated care of Blackburn-Curry Funeral and Cremation, 380 N. Lowder Street, Macclenny, Florida 32063. (904) 259-2806.
