David Edward Dyer, age 36, of Green Cove Springs, Florida, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023. He was born on March 30, 1986, in Pasadena, Texas, to Michael Arthur and Cheryl Anne (Boswell) Dyer. David had been a longtime resident of Clay County, although his heart would always reside in Detroit, Michigan. Precisely why he liked being called Detroit David or Double D. To meet David was to know him. He could become instant friends with anyone he met and would give a stranger the shoes off of his feet, literally. David loved skateboarding. He was a huge car enthusiast, specifically Corvettes, a fan of Detroit sports teams, especially the Red Wings, and was an avid pool player. However, he was always his happiest exploring the outdoors. David was preceded in death by his mother, Cheryl Dyer. He is survived by his daughter, Haley Elizabeth Dyer; father, Michael A. Dyer of Green Cove Springs; brother, Michael James Dyer (Amanda) of Green Cove Springs; sister, Terra Anne Applegate (Aaron Belfer) of Columbus, Ohio; and the love of his life, Amber Cain-Matzen of Orange Park.
