Daniel "Dewey" Allen Carl Byrd, age 36, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away way too soon, on Friday, February 4, 2022. Dewey was born on August 20, 1985, in Jacksonville to Reginald D. and June Rena (Deese) Byrd and grew up in Starke, but had lived in Jacksonville for the past 19 years. He was a kind, loving father, brother, uncle, and friend who enjoyed shooting pool and loved watching the Florida Gators play football. Dewey's passing leaves a tremendous hole in his family's hearts but the peace and comfort of knowing he was saved means that he's rejoicing with Jesus, and they will see him again. Dewey was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his son, Parker Allen Byrd; daughter, Peyton Renee Byrd; brothers, Randy Travis Byrd (Denise) of Jacksonville, Jake Warren of Jacksonville, Michael Crawford of Gainesville, Spencer Byrd of Jacksonville, and Reggie Byrd of Mayo; sisters, Danielle Denise Scaife (Will) of Melrose, sister & honorary mother, Paula Waters (Roy) of Jacksonville, Pam Padgett (Grady) of Maxville, and Alexis Warren (Tanner) of Jacksonville; honorary father, Doug Warren of Jacksonville; along with numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends who were loved as brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Long Branch Baptist Church in Maxville with Pastor Terry Ryan officiating. Interment will follow in Crosby Lake Cemetery in Starke. Visitation with the family will be held one hour to services at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to Blackburn-Curry Funeral Home or online by clicking the donation tab to help with Dewey's funeral expenses.
