Dale W. Lamb, age 83, of Lawtey, Florida, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at his home under the care of Vitas Hospice. He was born in Gibsonburg, Ohio, on February 7, 1941, to Lorena (Trapp) and Herman C. Lamb. Mr. Lamb moved to Lawtey 8 years ago from Columbus, Ohio, to be closer to his daughter. Dale was a dedicated father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather who worked as a Boiler Operator with the Columbus City School System, retired, and then went to work at the Vern Riffe State Office Tower for 10 years as a security officer, retiring at the age of 75. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served from 1959-1963. Mr. Lamb was a Boilerman Petty Officer 2nd Class on the USS Norton Sound and USS Gregory during the Cuban Missile Crisis. In his free time, he enjoyed watching football and especially loved rooting for his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes. Mr. Lamb was preceded in death by his parents and grandchildren, Aubri, Ben, and Brice. Survivors include his daughter, Teri Matthews (James) of Lawtey: sons, Charles Lamb (Teresa) of Columbus, Ohio, David Lamb of Tiffin, Ohio, and Dale Lamb of Hutto, Texas; brother, Gordon C. Lamb of Toledo, Ohio; grandchildren, Joshua, Shaun, Brittini, Zack, and Troy; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. Mr. Lamb will be laid to rest along with his family in Ohio.
